Dear
HMSDC Community,
It is with profound sadness
that we announce the passing of Richard A. (Dick) Huebner, a cherished leader
and dear friend, who passed away peacefully May 21, 2024. He was 73.
Under Dick’s exceptional
leadership, HMSDC has become one of the most recognized and respected business
development organizations nationally. Over more than 31 years at the helm, Dick
utilized his many strengths and expertise to create corporate opportunities and
promote long-term, sustainable growth for minority businesses. He was not only
a visionary leader, but a true mentor, coach and friend dedicated to fostering
business relationships and guiding numerous entrepreneurs to success.
Dick’s profound and lasting
contributions to Houston’s small business community have opened doors to myriad
partnerships and entrepreneurial initiatives. His efforts have resulted in
numerous contracting opportunities for minority business owners and have
successfully bridged the gap between large corporations and diverse suppliers
from a wide spectrum of industries.
We extend our deepest
condolences to Dick’s family and loved ones during this difficult time. As we
mourn his loss so closely after the death of his wife Marsha in November 2023,
we also want to celebrate his remarkable legacy and the countless lives he touched
with his consistently positive outlook and unwavering commitment to our mission
and the growth of diverse businesses in Houston.
Currently, the family asks
for a moment of privacy as they grieve and make arrangements. As details are
shared with the HMSDC team, we will share with our Supplier Diversity
Community.
With Deepest Sympathy,
Ingrid Robinson
