NMSDC redesigns website as part of its modernization

NMSDC is excited to announce the release of a brand-new website launching this week as part of its ongoing technology modernization efforts. As we work to accelerate minority business enterprise (MBE) growth towards our march to $1 trillion, we know it is essential our MBEs, corporate members, and other partners have a reliable, modern website where they can engage with our work. The new NMSDC website reflects this, and rather than just being a visual facelift; is a complete redesign that prioritizes accessibility, user-friendliness, and inclusivity.

A Modern Website that Reflects NMSDC’s Focus on the Future

The former NMSDC website had been in use for close to a decade. And while it has served the organization well, a more modern platform was needed. As a result, one of the first priorities of the NMSDC’s new leadership team was to pursue a website redesign that reflects the organization’s renewed vision for the future – accelerating MBE growth. The new website’s cleaner and more modern design achieves that goal in several ways.

Features of NMSDC’s New and Improved Website

A More Intuitive User Journey
An underlying aim of the website redesign was focused on ensuring MBEs and corporate members were easily able to find the content they needed from NMSDC. The new website accomplishes this objective with an updated navigation menu and site map that assures visitors to the website find what they need with as few clicks as possible.

An Increased Emphasis on Narrative and Storytelling
Considering that one of NMSDC’s primary focuses is supporting and growing MBEs, during the creation of the new website a focus was put on how to better highlight their stories. In addition to the inclusion of a new Stories from the Network section and an improved News section, the new website also places importance on highlighting the compelling stories and relevant news of not only our MBEs but also our corporate members and other partners by highlighting these stories on the homepage and throughout the other pages of the website.

A Larger Focus on NMSDC’s Regional Affiliates
Not only does NMSDC’s new website do a much better job of providing information on its upcoming events, but it also places a spotlight on the excellent opportunities for local engagement with NMSDC’s regional affiliates, by highlighting their events and providing a more, user-friendly way to find and interact with an individual’s local affiliate.

The Addition of Search Functionality
A feature that was missing from the previous website that negatively impacted the user experience was the lack of a search function. We are excited to say the new site includes a robust, integrated search feature, enabling users to quickly locate specific content. This is particularly valuable for businesses and individuals seeking precise information about certification, NMSDC programming, and corporate partnerships.

A Special Thanks to Social Driver
We want to thank NMSDC-certified MBE Social Driver for all their work to make our vision for this website a reality. This step forward would not have been possible without their team of web designers and developers.

A Look Ahead to Further Technology Improvements

The initial redesign of the new website is only one step in our journey towards creating the more intuitive, modern technology needed to accelerate MBE growth and advance business diversity. In the coming year, you can also expect to see the implementation of a new customer relationship management (CRM) database that will be directly integrated into NMSDC’s website and create a more intuitive user experience for MBEs seeking certification and our corporate members who want to do business with them. Some of the new features users can expect from the new database include:
