Ohio MSDC names Eric Westley MBE services director

COLUMBUS - March 6, 2023 - - The Ohio Minority Supplier Development Council (Ohio MSDC) is pleased to announce that Eric Westley has joined the organization as Director of MBE Services. 

 

Based in Cincinnati, Westley spent more than 28 years at Procter & Gamble in several leadership positions. For more than a decade, he led efforts in Supply Chain and Corporate Supplier Diversity roles, facilitating Corporate Supplier Diversity Planning Processes and integrating Corporate Supplier Diversity planning processes into overall corporate strategy and creating Supplier Diversity training for senior leaders, buyers, majority suppliers and MWBE suppliers.

 

"Eric has the experience and enthusiasm to take our MBE Services division to even greater levels," OMSDC President & CEO George R. Simms said. "We're pleased to have Eric join our Leadership Team and bring his extensive knowledge and passion for minority businesses development to our Council." OMSDC President & CEO George R. Simms said.

 

Prior to joining OMSDC, Westley was an Organization Effectiveness & Design Consultant with MGMTInsight. In this role he created & lead development trainings for small to middle sized businesses, coached and developed young professionals on workforce management, and strategic planning, and established and developed Affinity Groups and Supplier Diversity teams.

 

"I am excited to drive economic equity through empowered MBEs to transform lives," Westley said. "I look forward to being a part of the OMSDC Leadership Team and be a partner with Ohio's minority business community."

 

In his role, Westley will provide overall leadership for MBE Services to improve MBE customer relationship management through MBE development, advocacy, and connecting.

 

Westley earned a Bachelor's Degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology and a Master of Business Administration Degree with a focus on Operations Management from Tennessee State University.

 

Jelani Johnson, OMSDC MBE Services Manager for Southern and Central Ohio, will be leaving the Council to join the Minority Business Partnership (MBP) at the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce.

 

"It has been my pleasure to serve Ohio as MBE Services Manager for OMSDC," Johnson said. "I will treasure the work I have done with the Council to make advances for Ohio's minority business community, and I will miss the minority business owners, colleagues and community partners I have come to know over the past years."

 

"Jelani has been a big part of our efforts in revitalizing the MBEIC and keeping strong community connections in southern and central Ohio," Simms said. "We thank Jelani for his contribution and wish him well in his new endeavors."

 

Johnson's last day with OMSDC will be Friday, March 10.
