Dennis Brockman has been
appointed global chief inclusion and diversity officer for Starbucks Inc. Since
December 2020, he had served as the interim chief inclusion and diversity
officer. Before that, Brockman was the company’s Midwest regional vice president.
In his new role, Brockman is responsible for building a culture of inclusion
and diversity, leadership excellence and accountability, and amplifying and
operationalizing D&I in the United States.
Thasunda Brown Duckett
will join Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association of America as president
and CEO, effective May 1. TIAA is a leading provider of secure retirements and
outcome-focused investment solutions to millions of people and thousands of
institutions. Previously, she was with JPMorgan Chase & Co. as CEO of Chase
Consumer Banking, a network with more than $600 billion in deposits, 4,900
branches and over 40,000 employees.
Henry Childs II, Esq., is
chairman, CEO and president of the National Minority Supplier Development
Inc.’s Business Consortium Fund, a U.S. Treasury-designated Community
Development Financial Institution and a national direct lender to certified
minority-owned businesses. He is a former national director of the U.S.
Department of Commerce’s Minority Business Develop Agency.
Michelle Gethers-Clark has
been named chief diversity officer and head of corporate responsibility at Visa
Inc. She will join Visa’s executive
committee and report to Chairman and CEO Al Kelly. In this role, Gethers-Clark
will lead Visa’s inclusion and diversity, social impact and sustainability
efforts globally. Previously, she was president and CEO of the United Way of
Greater Greensboro, North Carolina.
Joe Simms is chief
diversity officer at Stanley Black & Decker Inc. In this role, he will
champion a broad approach to diversity, equity and inclusion to accelerate
company performance, optimize organizational culture, enhance transparency and
strengthen accountability. Simms will also establish key external partnerships
to enhance the company’s ecosystem of diverse sources of talent and expertise.
Monique Wells is director
of diversity, equity and inclusion at DTE Energy Co. She is responsible for
accelerating DTE’s progress in building a workplace where everyone feels valued
and able to contribute their best energy toward serving customers, communities
and each other. Wells was previously diversity, equity and inclusion project
manager at Consumers Energy.
