Summit also recognized minority business development trailblazers

The Bush Infotech Group Inc. (B.I.G.) — formerly known as KFA Inc. — recently held its inaugural Technology Summit at Malcolm X College in Chicago, Illinois.

The successful summit was attended by an impressive number of business professionals from as far away as Houston, Texas, according to Greg Bush Jr., owner, president, CEO of Bush Infotech Group Inc.

Federal, state and city of Chicago agencies provided opportunities for professionals to network, while B.I.G. staff, peers and partners held breakout sessions across three insightful tracks: “Architecture, Construction and Facilities Management,” “Get Your Business Tight: Conversations for Scaling” and “AI: Computing Smarter with Intelligent Solutions.”

At the event, B.I.G. proudly presented its award-winning PHAZE SaaS solution — a web collaboration information system with the power of an Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) platform. This innovative tool was instrumental in B.I.G.’s recognition as the U.S. Department of Commerce Minority Business Development Agency’s 2020 Minority Innovative Technology Firm of the Year.

During the summit, several distinguished personalities were honored for their contributions to minority business development. The honorees were:

• Don McKneely, chairman of MBN USA and WE USA magazines and co-founder of the Billion Dollar Roundtable Inc., was recognized with the Bush Infotech Group Legend Award.

• Debra Jennings-Johnson, interim president and CEO of the Chicago Minority Supplier Development Council, received the Bush Infotech Group DEI Brilliance Award.

• Elroy Smith, a legendary radio program director, was bestowed with the Bush Infotech Group Trailblazer Award.

The day concluded with a networking event and a performance by recording artist CeCe Peniston.

Bush expressed his satisfaction with the event, saying, “What our attendees and stakeholders witnessed was the result of B.I.G. staff implementing what it does best — project management and coordination of teams by utilizing our efficient and effective technology solutions.”
