NBCUniversal recently announced that Xiomara Wiley and Peter Blacker have been appointed to new roles overseeing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for Universal Parks and Resorts and the Global Advertising and Partnerships groups, respectively. Wiley, executive vce president and chief diversity officer, Universal Parks and Resorts, reports to Mark Woodbury, chairman and CEO, Universal Parks and Resorts.
Blacker is expanding his leadership role within NBCUniversal’s Global Advertising and Partnerships division to now include oversight into all external and internal Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives. He will report to Linda Yaccarino, Chairman, Global Advertising and Partnerships.
“Diversity, equity and inclusion are a fundamental part of our business,” Mark Woodbury said. “Xiomara’s deep knowledge of our business and her ongoing involvement in our DEI efforts will make her a strong and positive force as we work to keep these initiatives a top priority for our team members and guests. She will make sure we continue to drive change and awareness and hold us accountable for doing so.”
“We’ve reached a pivotal moment as an industry and a company. To build a better future for our employees, our partners, and our viewers, we must build a more inclusive one. And Peter is the perfect person to lead the charge.” said Linda Yaccarino. “He brings a wealth of experience to the table, along with unmatched compassion, empathy, and a drive to make a positive impact. I have no doubt Peter and his team will take our DEI efforts to new heights while transforming the way we work together now and in the future.”
Both Xiomara and Peter will work closely with Craig Robinson, NBCUniversal’s Executive Vice President and Chief Diversity Officer, and join NBCUniversal’s cohort of dedicated senior DEI leaders embedded in some of the company’s largest businesses, including Television and Streaming, Film, the NBCU News Group, NBC Local, and the NBCU Sports Group.
“Xiomara and Peter are well-respected leaders who will deliver measurable results by translating their years of expertise into growing and developing the culture of inclusion in their businesses and at NBCUniversal more broadly,” said Craig Robinson, EVP and Chief Diversity officer. “I’ve known and admired them both for many years and am excited to be working even more closely with them on the company’s DEI initiatives. They join our unique cohort of senior leaders who partner 24/7 with their business leader on diversity and culture programs.”
Xiomara has been an active member of the Parks Executive Inclusion Council. She most recently served as Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for Universal Parks & Resorts North America and before that as Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Universal Studios Hollywood.
In addition to these new responsibilities, Peter will continue to report into Laura Molen, President Advertising and Partnerships as Executive Vice President, Agency Partnerships and leads sales efforts for OMG, Telemundo and Peacock. Previously, Peter served as the Chief Commercial Officer and Head of DTC Licensing for Telemundo Enterprises where he led Telemundo’s global strategy for content monetization across SVOD and AVOD platforms.
In these newly created senior positions, Xiomara and Peter will expand on the preexisting Diversity, Equity and Inclusion teams. For Universal Parks & Resorts, this work will also influence key strategies for product development, guest experience, and workforce planning. Within Advertising & Partnerships, Peter will continue to advance the division’s current DEI strategy with his team that will support all internal employee programs, as well as foster and track all external DEI-related partnerships.
